I lived most of my life in my home country, Philippines. I picked this because I want to share how our country looks awesome and maybe give my fellow student a little information about the Filipinos.

Pearl of the Orient

      Philippines is the home of the Filipinos. It consists of about 7,641 islands and categorized under geographical  division called Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Our capital city is called Manila. Manila is one of the biggest place but it is the second most populous place in the Philippines (Quezon City is the first one). It is the oldest city in the country. The official language of the city of Manila is called "Tagalog" and the most popular sport in the city is basketball. Manila is where you found the downtown, the bay, airports and basically almost everything.

Filipinos are a nation and ethnic group native to the Philippines that share a common Filipino culture. Tagalog and English are the official language in the country but most people are fluent in speaking the native language Tagalog. Below is the example words/phrase of Tagalog.

• Dog- Aso

• College - Kolehiyo
• I love you - Mahal kita   

      We the Filipinos have one of the best traits in the world according to my History teacher back in my elementary days. Here are some of our traits.

• Helpful

  We the Filipinos likes to play sports as well. We don't have American Football but have sports like basketball,volleyball,tennis,badminton,soccer,rugby,table tennis,sepak takraw,taekwondo and more.

This is some saying when you know you're a Filipino

• We use shopping bags as garbage bags
• We say ‘for take out’ instead of ‘to go’
• We say ‘brown-out’ instead of ‘black-out’
• We eat a lot white rice
• We play with sandals
• We always have get together
• We love watching Manny Pacquiao
• We love watching college ball
• Seeing black cats are bad luck
•

The Beautiful Islands of the Philippines

All the way back home, There are a lot of tourist spots that people need to see and visit. It is really safe to say that a visit or a vacation on the Philippines is worth it. Some people all around the world visits and come back to see the Philippines every summer to enjoy the beautiful warm weather of the country. By the way, We only have two seasons which is rainy and summer season. Rainy seasons starts June - October. The typhoon season often happens during the month of October. Summers starts earlier than the United States, It starts at April till May and the month of May is the hottest month in the Philippines. To be honest with you, It's always hot in the Philippines and feels like it's always summer.

One of our tourists spots that people spend their summer is the our beautiful beaches and resorts. I am telling your our beaches are one of a kind. It's like one you will never forget and will always want you to go back.

This is one of the most famous island/beach resort in the Philippines where you'll see all kind of celebrities, foreigners and families. The island is called "Boracay Island". The islands have all kind of hotels, bar and food place. Seafood place is the go to in this islands because they have seafood fresh off the sea.
